GLOBAL ARTS INITIATIVE
Ensemble du Monde is a non-profit organization and we already have several initiatives underway that we hope will enable us to bring our musical talents to a wider audience.
Ensemble du Monde believes that music and music education is not a luxury but a necessity. Through our “Global Outreach Initiative” we aim to inspire, innovate, and educate communities by providing our virtuoso performers (who are also high level educators) to schools, music organizations, collegiate institutions, music festivals and concert halls worldwide. We do this by creating high quality educational programs, lectures, masterclasses and workshops tailored to the needs of the community.
We have already engaged in projects that have included Harlem School of the Arts, Third Street Music School Settlement, Noel Pointer Foundation and New York French-American Charter School. In 2007 the ensemble performed the music for the live world premiere performance of the “Save the Goldfish” episode of the Nickelodeon television channel’s EMMY Award winning ‘Wonder Pets’ show at New York’s Javits Center. We followed this with outreach programs abroad, most notably at the International Festival Saint-Georges in 2011, and at the Festival of Afro-Caribbean Composers in February 2013. Our initiatives have received sponsorship and support from the Nassau Music Society, Atlantis Resort, Alliance Française, Société Générale and the United States Embassy in the Bahamas.
Of particular note is our new Global Outreach Partnerships, where our ensemble members’ partner with music education programs in Europe and the Caribbean, providing extensive workshops, lessons and performances. Over the next few years we hope to develop this “Global Arts Initiative” to increase our reach in the local music education community.
