Filip Pogády

The winner of the 2005 Tsusuki violin competition, Filip Pogády, began playing at an early age. A protégé of Pinchas Zukerman, his major teachers have also included renowned violinists such as Tomasz Liebig, Grigori Zhislin and and he has also profited from the advice of Ida Haendel and Shlomo Mintz. He made his solo debut in the Wiener Konzerthaus at age eleven and has performed for radio and TV broadcast such as Radio Krakow, Slovak National Television (STV) and FX Television (USA and Canada). Filip Pogady performs regularly as a soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and has played in renowned halls such as the Vienna Concert House, Rudolfinum Prague, Slovak Philharmonic Hall and the Tel Aviv Opera to name a few.

Currently Filip Pogady plays on a modern instrument by the Russian violinmaker Boris Bratishchew and is being sponsored by the Yehudi Menuhin "Live Music Now" Foundation and the "Stepski" Private Foundation.
