Benita Beneitez-Vega

Benita Benéitez-Vega was born in Spain in the Basque city of Bilbao. She began to play violin and piano at the age of nine, making her formative studies at the Superior Conservatorie of Music in Bilbao and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Her teachers have included Gerard Claret and Alexander Mikhline,Victor Berkovich, Krystof Smietana, Mauricio Fucks, Marina Yashvili, Felix Ayo and chamber music with Barry Sargent, Susan Collier and The Takacs Quartet.

As soloist with several professional orchestras in Spain as Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and toured all Europe as Chamber musician (Germany, Hungary, Italy, U.K., Portugal...) As an orchestral player she has performed with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Real Filharmonia de Galicia, Asturias Symphony Orchestra, The Richmond Symphony, The Manhattan Symphonie and many others, performing under the baton of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Carlo Maria Giulini, Jesus Lopez Cobos, Andras Ligeti.

Since 2008, Ms. Benéitez-Vega has lived in New York City where she has an active duo career as performer and educator.
