Charles Kiger

Timpanist and percussionist Charles Kiger, is one of New York’s most active musicians. He was formerly Principal Timpanist of the Jupiter Symphony, as well as solo percussionist of the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players. He has performed extensively in the Broadway productions of A Chorus Line, West Side Story, Billy Elliot & more, as well as hundreds performances of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra.
Most recently he has performed with Dicapo Opera Theatre, Binghamton Philharmonic, Dessoff Choirs, New York Chamber Virtuosi, Opera Moderne. For the last decade, he has been the solo percussionist for Italian tenor Michael Amante and the New York Tenors.

Mr. Kiger has been featured on countless studio recordings and soundtracks, including several PBS documentaries. Since 2011, he was been Principal Timpanist of the Strathmere Festival Orchestra and solo percussionist of the Strathmere Ensemble. He has performed with Ensemble du Monde since the founding in 2005 and is a core member.
