Dana Frobig

A native of South Florida, oboist Dana Frobig received her formative education at The Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Stetson University and SUNY Purchase, where her teachers have included Ann Adams and Bert Lucarelli. She is an active orchestral and chamber musician, who has performed as Principal Oboe with the Astoria Music Society, New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, Amato Opera, Vertical Player Repertory Opera, Richmond County Orchestra, One World Symphony, Empire Opera, 92nd Street Y Orchestra, Greenwich Village Orchestra, Eastern Winds Woodwind Quintet, and Venti Dolce Woodwind Ensemble. Having performed in some of New York’s most prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Hall, the Guggenheim Museum, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, Town Hall and Symphony Space.

Ms. Frobig is co-owner of “Frobig Wind Repair” and is also the on-site repair technician at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Recently she toured of China with the Manhattan Symphonie and is currently involved in overseas projects in Cuba and Afghanistan helping develop music education and instrument repair programs.
